First, customize the reminder template, then enable the automated reminders through your application preference settings.
First customize the daycare reminder template. From the main menu-->company preferences-->communication settings-->communication templates. Click edit on the Daycare Reminder email.
Second, enable the automated daycare reminder emails from the menu-->company preferences-->application preferences. Category = Email/App Message - Customers. When the following preference is enabled PetExec will automatically send the pet owner a daycare reminder email prior to the appointment.

Reminder emails can also be sent on demand from the appointment. If you click edit or modify on the daycare appointment, click to send the reminder email, app message or sms/text message:
